KH Neochem provides environmentally-conscious products in order to help enrich the lives of people around the world. We also proactively engage in activities to conserve energy as well as reduce flue gas and waste discharged by plants which manufacture products.
Provision of environmentally-conscious products
Diacetone Acrylamide
Water-borne paints consist of water in solvent therefore entails low risk of being hazardous to the environment or human health due to VOCs (volatile organic compounds). As such it is considered a product which is gentle on the environment and our health. This water-borne paints contain DAAM (Diacetone Acrylamide), a material made by KH Neochem.
Octylic Acid and Isononanoic Acid
CFC which does not destroy the ozone layer, is used as a refrigerant in air conditioners and refrigerators, etc. due to being an environmentally-friendly synthetic gas. The octylic acid and isononanoic acid manufactured by KH Neochem is used as a raw material of lubricating oil which supports CFC.
Development of Environmentally-Conscious Products
Global warming and other environmental issues continue to intensify.KH Neochem has engaged in an ongoing effort to distribute environmentally-conscious products to the world, represented by DAAM, octylic acid and isononanoic acid. As such, we have accumulated a large reservoir of technology and knowledge relating to products which consider the environment.Leveraging the technology and knowledge we have accumulated to date, we have set “contributing to the environment” as one of our R&D policies with the aim of realizing a rich and sustainable future, and we challenge ourselves day and night to create new materials.
Environment Measures in Factories
ISO14001 Certification
Both of KH Neochem’s plants, located in Yokkaichi and Chiba, have acquired ISO14001 certification. ISO14001 is an international regulation relating to environmental management systems issued by the International Organization for Standardization and can only be obtained by companies that satisfy the below requirements.

Responsible Care (RC) Activities
KH Neochem proactively engages in initiatives to reduce environmental load, such as reducing flue gas and waste produced by our plants, and conserving energy.
Zero Emissions Activity
In order to reduce environmental load, we take a centralized control approach to waste created by our plants, and sort/recycle waste in order to reduce the amount of landfill as much as possible. We have also established an eco station within our plants as a facility to achieve the centralized management of waste.
Our Role as a Corporate Citizen
As a chemicals company, we believe that one of our most important roles is to cooperate with the local community and disclose environmental information. We engage in the following activities to promote communication with the local community, with the goal of achieving harmony.
Main Activities
Clean-up activities
In order to contribute to the local community, KH Neochem holds regular clean-up activities around its business locations ever year. Essentially, we perform these clean-ups independently, but will cooperate with local organizations such as the city council if requested.
Satoyama conservation activities
Woodlands are essential as a source of food and timber. Nevertheless, the shift of people to urban areas has resulted in many woodland areas being neglected and becoming wastelands. As such, KH Neochem participates in woodlands conservation activities together with local citizens.
Factory tours
As part of our educational support, KH Neochem accommodates plant tours participated in by local elementary school children. Each year, we welcome many children, who enthusiastically learn about the petrochemical industry through lively Q&A sessions.
Blood donation
Blood, which is essential to people who are suffering from an injury or illness, cannot be made artificially. In light of this, KH Neochem employees donate twice a year in summer and winter, when supply is particularly low. In particular, our Chiba Plant employees have been donating blood for over twenty years.
Local networking (festivals)
Every year, KH Neochem participates in local festivals through running a stall. We aim to reassure the community and gain their trust by directly interacting with the many members of the local region who participate in such events, from young to old.
Road Safety (Seatbelt Campaign)
KH Neochem sponsors the road safety activities organized by the Ichihara Road Safety Association and participates in Seatbelt Campaign, which is run every year by cooperation between the companies on the coastal areas of Ichihara and various organizations. We proactively engage in activities to reduce the number of road accidents.
Various Support Activities
KH Neochem is involved in a variety of supporting activities in order to contribute to society as a corporate citizen.
Disclosure of Environmental Information (RC Report Preparation)
In order to keep members of the local community and other stakeholders up to date with the efforts KH Neochem is making to reduce environmental load, we issue an annual RC Report. Our aim is to maintain our status as a company trusted by the community.
